‘Male studies’ 2011
Continuing on from ‘Male Sexuality’ 2011, where I
researched male sexuality and the different types of human sexuality, theories
and methodologies’ around it. I focused more on homosexuality and theories,
acceptance and views. What makes a male straight, gay, transgender,
heterosexual etc and how people are perceived and judged on looks, standards
and stereotypes’. I started with drawings and imagery of males, and then used
different materials to paint onto the surface, then they where scanned and
collaged with different imagery, photographs and text in Photoshop to produce
the final print. Finally I selected the one print which stood out most to me
and painted it in oils.
'Self portrait 2010' Life Tiles, Mixed media
I am creating
these artworks to portray three aspects of my life. This includes sexuality,
family and love, and within each aspect I have related significant events from
my life, which relate to the aspect. This is portrayed through different
mediums, styles, line, colour and symbolism.
